Horace Mann famously declared education “the great equalizer” in 1848, the most powerful tool for social and economic mobility and equality. Over 175 years later, it’s still the silver bullet but there are substantial barriers in place that block equitable and just access to high-quality, safe, and affordable education for all. It’s critical that we understand education challenges affecting communities across the United States and globally—and how we can each take action to support nonprofits working towards solutions.
Taproot is hosting a panel of nonprofit leaders on Tuesday, April 2 at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT for an open conversation that spotlights:
- Pressing education equity and access challenges that these nonprofits are addressing
- Community-driven solutions that their organizations are implementing
- The support that education nonprofits need—right now—from skills-based volunteers
If you want to learn more about education causes or how your volunteerism can support this important social issue, this panel is for you! Taproot’s Social Issue Spotlight series is a collection of free discussions that highlight a pressing community challenge and mobilizes people in support of critical missions. This panel kicks off our annual National Volunteer Month celebrations, a special time of honoring volunteerism and inspiring action. Bring your colleagues and bring your questions! We rely on your support to spread the word about our nonprofit’s work.
This panel will be recorded and shared with all registrants. This is an event of Taproot Foundation, a US-based nonprofit, that connects business professionals with nonprofits and small businesses so that we can all work together for social change.
