Bing Owens is a valuable pro bono consultant who brings a wide array of skills in finance to Taproot. Having started his career as an accountant, he eventually moved into analytics and strategies, and has made use of those skills for many nonprofits in Chicago.
Bing first heard about Taproot in 2007 through an online advertisement. Since then, he has completed eight projects, and is working on his ninth. Bing says:
“My experience has been really positive. I’m impressed with the volunteers. They come in with great energy and knowledge, really willing to help. The charities are also really appreciative of the grant and the volunteers.”
Bing told us more about his experiences and offered pro bono pointers. His projects across five categories and nine organizations have given him enormous insight into the experience of volunteering. Everyone from pro bono novices to experienced volunteers can benefit from Bing’s tips and expertise.
