America observes Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 every year to celebrate the diverse cultures, contributions, and histories of our country’s Hispanic and Latino communities. It’s also a chance for us at Taproot to highlight our nonprofit partners working with these communities in the US and around the world.
Looking for an innovative way to get involved this Hispanic Heritage Month? How about donating your skills and talents to these social change organizations on Taproot Plus:
- Adelante Mujer provides financial assistance to women studying to become doctors in Nicaragua. They need support with their social media strategy.
- Camino Verde’s mission is to protect and understand biodiversity in the Peruvian Amazon. They have two open volunteer opportunities: writing grants and updating their Google Ads.
- The Community Bots provides STEM-robotics training and equipment for girls and their teachers in underserved communities in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Colombia, and Spain. They’re seeking a volunteer to research grant opportunities.
- Latinos Homeschooling supports families who are educating their children at home with learning opportunities that benefit Latino students. They have two opportunities: developing a board and seeking grants.
- Pan American Symphony Orchestra is the first orchestra in the nation to focus solely on Latin American music. They need advice about updating their website.
- The Venezuelan American Archives Foundation fights for the freedoms and rights of immigrants in the USA and globally. They have several volunteer openings, including growing their daily Spanish YouTube show, recruiting board members, and developing key messages.
