Learn How to Use Taproot’s Pro Bono Valuation in Upcoming Webinar

Taproot recently released our newly updated Pro Bono Valuation (PBV), a calculation that quantifies the monetary value of an hour of service by a skilled volunteer. The 2024 PBV was valued at $220 per hour, up 18% since the most recent update in 2019. So, what does the PBV have to do with your work as a CSR professional, nonprofit leader, or even an individual skilled volunteer? That answer and more will be discussed in our August 27 webinar, A Guide to Understanding Taproot’s Pro Bono Valuation.

How did the PBV come about?

The Pro Bono Valuation was first born in 2009. Members of the Taproot team identified a gap in how to effectively communicate the value of skills-based volunteering. Qualitative data was easy to gathernonprofits could speak to impact on their work and volunteers were quick to talk about how inspired they felt. But stakeholders also need something concrete that they could point to. The PBV helps illustrate in monetary terms the value of time donated, and time saved, through skilled volunteering.

So, what does the PBV have to do with me?

The PBV is a powerful tool for anyone involved in the skilled volunteering sector. For those in corporate CSR, the PBV quantifies the monetary value of your skills-based volunteering program. For nonprofits, skilled volunteering is a powerful in-kind donation that shows funders your deep community support and commitment to innovation. And for volunteers themselves, knowing the value of the time you devote to skilled volunteering can provide a sense of accomplishment, and be a powerful stat to add to your resume.

Why should I attend the webinar?

Alex Guiney photoTaproot’s August 27 webinar will expand on this intro to the PBV and how you can leverage it to serve your needs. On hand will be Alex Guiney, a Senior Consultant with Taproot’s Advisory Services, who played a key role in developing and calculating the 2024 PBV. Alex will speak in more depth about how the calculation informs Taproot’s work and supports the work of our partners.
