Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized in the United States from September 15 to October 15 each year. The celebration honors the diverse cultures, contributions, and histories of our country’s Hispanic and Latine communities. It’s also a chance for Taproot to uplift the work of nonprofit partners working within these communities in the United States and throughout the Americas.
Looking to get involved this Hispanic Heritage Month? Consider donating your skills and talents to these social change projects:
- Latino Economic Development Center creates economic opportunities for Latinos, envisioning a thriving multicultural community in Minnesota, enriched with Latino leadership, culture, and economic influence. They are in need of a bilingual Google Ads pro to assist with optimizing ads in English and Spanish.
- Minga Peru promotes sustainable change in marginalized communities of Latin America and the Caribbean to collaboratively build gender equity, environmental stewardship and cultural identity. They are seeking a grant writer to help research and write grants in the fields of climate justice, youth development, women’s empowerment, and human rights.
- FIERCE Advocates amplifies the voices of Black, Latine, and other caregivers of color to advance equitable access to educational opportunities for youth and help families achieve emotional and physical well-being. They are looking for a marketing professional to develop an overall branding strategy for their newly renamed organization.
- Latinos Homeschooling supports parents who are educating their children at home so they can become impactful leaders in our society. They are seeking business planning assistance through a one-hour session to help shape their vision for a sustainable organization.
- Grand Strand Miracle Leagues offers individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate in sports and recreational activities in a community-supported, safe, adapted, and encouraging environment. They are looking for help translating their existing brochure into Spanish, enabling them to reach a large and growing Spanish-speaking population in their area.
