Can $10,000 save a child's life?
Apr 11th, 2011 Social Impact

Can $10,000 save a teacher’s job or provide a lifesaving surgery for a kid?
It depends on how you do the math.

Aidan is a kid with a life-threatening disease that can’t afford a critical surgery.
Betsy is a pediatric surgeon who wants to help but she doesn’t know Aidan exists.
Steve runs a nonprofit that helps match kids with doctors but has no Web site or marketing materials–
So Aidan and Betsy can never find him.

With a $10,000 grant, Taproot is able to recruit a team of all-star marketing professionals and manage them to build Steve a website and to market his services.

Betsy finds Aidan.
His life is saved.
The next day Betsy finds Chloe and then Rhoda and then Jack and then…

Can $10,000 save a teacher’s job or provide a lifesaving surgery for a kid?
It depends on how you do the math.
