Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in reviewing a grant proposal and making updates.

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with a copy and review the application draft with you. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll review our document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and creates a list of recommended changes to share with us. The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits which the volunteer will make the agreed-upon changes to the document.

Your time and expertise can help shape the future of the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community in Southern Nevada. By volunteering as a grant researcher or grant writer, you will help the 9th Island Chamber of Commerce Foundation secure the funding needed to fulfill our mission: to empower Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and supporters through economic advancement, cultural stewardship, and community-centered services that strengthen our collective future.

Every successful grant proposal creates opportunities for scholarships, workforce development, small business growth, veterans and military family services, youth leadership, cultural preservation, and the future Hawaiian Arts & Cultural Center in Las Vegas. Although our nonprofit organizations are newly federally recognized, they represent more than 50 years of community vision and leadership.

Your volunteer service won’t simply help write grants—it will help build a lasting legacy, strengthen one of the nation’s largest Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities outside Hawaiʻi, and create opportunities that will positively impact generations to come.

We have a dedicated team member for the project who will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format. (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.) We'll also send you the proposal and application guidelines.
