Global Empowerment Network, Inc. (GEN) is expanding its educational content, interviews, podcast programming, community events, and storytelling. Because we operate with limited nonprofit resources, we want to build our own practical capacity to produce professional-quality photos and videos rather than depend entirely on outside production support.

We are seeking an experienced photography/video production professional who can provide hands-on, beginner-friendly training in photography, videography, audio, lighting, framing, and video editing. We want to learn how to effectively use smartphones and affordable equipment to record interviews, podcasts, educational videos, events, and short-form social media content.

We also need guidance on editing workflows: organizing footage, selecting strong clips, improving basic audio/video quality, adding titles, GEN branding, captions/subtitles, transitions where appropriate, and converting longer recordings into professional short-form content for different platforms.

By the end of the project, we would like our team to receive practical training and have a repeatable workflow covering: (1) smartphone and basic camera photography/videography; (2) framing, camera angles, lighting, and audio for interviews, podcasts, events, and educational content; (3) basic equipment setup and recommendations for affordable or free tools; (4) organizing and editing recorded footage; (5) adding titles, logos/branding, captions/subtitles, and other essential elements; (6) turning long interviews and podcast recordings into shorter clips, Reels, and Shorts; and (7) exporting content appropriately for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.

We would value hands-on instruction using accessible editing software, along with simple written checklists or workflows that we can continue following after the project. If feasible, we would also like to practice by creating and editing sample GEN content with the volunteer’s guidance.

Success would mean GEN can independently capture and edit clean, professional-looking photos and videos and efficiently turn our programs, interviews, and events into useful digital content.
