Video Clip Creation from Existing Event Recordings
We would like a volunteer to review our existing event videos and pull out short clips. Each event we hold is based on a specific issue area, like citizenship, disability awareness, and DEI. We would love to have snippets (with relevant titles) from each issue area to use on social media and our website to both inform our audience and help promote future events. You can see the previous issues we have covered at www.informyourcommunity.org/get-informed.
With much discussion about the importance of civic engagement taking place, it's more important than ever that our organization share the great 'good work' that we are doing widely. Doing so is integral to our mission and literally in our organization's name: Inform Your Community.
Video is preferable in social media algorithms and as a non-profit organization, we need to capitalize on that to expand our reach. Moreover, making the video accessible beyond the entire event video will help because prospective attendees want to know what to expect at our events. Thus, having videos we can pull from and refine for use on our website, at our gala, and in email and social media communication will encourage attendance at our free events, attract volunteers to help support our mission, and foster conversations that can lead to donations, sponsorships, and partnerships that will allow us to continue to keep our events free and increase their reach. The volunteer who works on this project will know they are advancing not just one issue that is important for elections, but many issues that combined are integral to fostering civic engagement.
Our videos are easily accessible on YouTube, our website at www.informyourcommunity.org/get-informed, and in a single google drive folder. We shorten each main video to contain only the event itself before we post it. We also save the gallery and speaker views, chat, and audio files of the event to the extent that these would be helpful though they are not needed to complete this project. We have a volunteer who specializes in A/V work and would be a go-to person for any tech-related questions as well as to provide any guidance about our needs. We are looking to provide him with these clips as a database of footage so that he can then make polished videos for the organization as needed in the future, as well as for them to be used on the website as needed to help advertise events. You will be working directly with the CEO as the lead on this project.
