Our nonprofit needs support crafting a templated communications plan to market a new fundraising initiative to businesses where we aske them to add the option for their customers to "round up" or where they add a check box to include a donation of support for Warrior Sailing at their POS, on invoices and/or where appropriate.

This project should take from 12-24 hours to complete. We're hopeful that our volunteer partner will share 2-5 hours of their time per week.

We are very proud of our programs and look forward to sharing the impact we have with a valued pro bono partner. To keep making an impact on the lives we serve we need to create new fundraising strategies and this project will be a big step forward. As this sort of marketing and design is not a skill set of our team, we are eager to learn and excited to get a fresh perspective on our outward facing communications and fundraising strategies.

To prepare for the creation of this communications checklist, we have taken stock of existing email, PR, or social media tactics that have worked well for our team in the past. We will implement the results of this project by sharing the materials in a pitch to our exisiting sponsors and partners first, then creating a plan to reach out and build new contacts.

Warrior Sailing provides maritime education for wounded, ill, and injured veterans, to support wellness, recovery and reintegration. We do so by facilitating opportunities for skill development and building partnerships between the military and marine communities. Using sailing as a platform, Warrior Sailing positively impacts the participant’s physical and mental health while reconnecting them with the camaraderie and teamwork previously found in military service.
