Project Management Framework Development
We seek a skilled volunteer project manager to help us develop and implement a project management framework for future farm program initiatives, events, and outreach. The volunteer will ensure that our nonprofit executes projects in a structured, clear, and consistent manner.
The project manager will be responsible for:
- Developing a project management framework that supports the planning, executing, and monitoring of program initiatives, fundraising events, and crises.
- Creating a checklist to guide the team through key project steps, including who, what, when, and how for each project phase.
- Coordinating and communicating with staff, college interns, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals and timelines alignment.
- Identifying and implementing appropriate project management tools and processes to ensure efficiency and clarity in execution.
- Managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Report progress regularly to leadership and suggest improvements as needed.
The project will be 2-5 hours weekly for 6-9 weeks. If you have project management experience and want to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you!
This project will support our nonprofit's mission by creating a structured, efficient approach to managing key initiatives, such as program updates, fundraising events, and crisis responses. Creating a transparent project management framework will help align our efforts with our goals and ensure consistent, focused execution. As a result, we will improve our ability to serve the community, streamline communication among staff, interns, volunteers, and stakeholders, and enhance the impact of our programs. Additionally, the project will equip our team with the tools and processes needed to manage resources effectively, allowing us to focus more on delivering quality services and creating meaningful, lasting change in our communities.
The volunteer project manager will set this project up for success by taking several proactive steps:
They will meet with key stakeholders to assess the nonprofit's current processes, goals, and specific needs and ensure the project management framework aligns with the organization's priorities.
The project manager will create a detailed checklist that outlines each stage of the process, including timelines, resources, and responsibilities, ensuring the team knows their roles and expectations. They will also evaluate and recommend the best project management tools to streamline communication and task management. The project manager will establish clear communication channels to ensure consistent updates across all teams, determining the best methods for sharing information and setting follow-up expectations.
The project manager will guide and train staff and interns on using the new tools and processes, empowering them to manage projects efficiently.
They will regularly monitor the project's progress, adjusting as needed to address any challenges and ensure the plan remains flexible and adaptive.
