Social Media Content Calendar & Copywriting
We are a new nonprofit/startup and are seeking a skilled volunteer to help elevate our social media content strategy. We have a dedicated marketing and communications team that meets weekly, including one team member with 25 years of experience and others who bring social media expertise. Our team has created a comprehensive content strategy plan, and we are looking for a mentor to provide guidance on how to evolve our approach in line with recent social media trends.
The social media landscape has shifted significantly in the past few years, moving from static posts to dynamic, highly engaging content formats such as videos, reels, and TikToks. As a nonprofit focused on refugee empowerment, we aim to share impactful, serious stories in ways that resonate with today’s audiences while maintaining sensitivity and authenticity. Our primary platform is Instagram, but we also want to grow on TikTok, BlueSky, and LinkedIn.
The volunteer will provide guidance on:
- Best practices for nonprofit content engagement on emerging platforms.
- How to balance serious, mission-driven content with viral, engaging formats.
- Developing an effective strategy for TikTok and BlueSky.
- Reviewing our existing content strategy plan and providing expert insights.
We want to ensure that we are utilizing our platforms in the best way possible to inspire action, educate audiences, and drive meaningful engagement. The volunteer's expertise will be instrumental in helping us navigate this evolving space while respecting the integrity of our mission.
Creshendo is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering refugees and displaced populations by amplifying their voices, challenging harmful narratives, and promoting self-autonomy over assimilation. Storytelling is at the heart of what we do, and our social media presence is a crucial avenue for spreading awareness, engaging supporters, and driving action.
With the guidance of a skilled social media content mentor, we will be able to:
- Engaging content will help us expand our impact, connecting with younger, more digital-native audiences who consume information primarily through social platforms.
- By leveraging reels, TikToks, and short-form videos, we can tell refugee stories in ways that resonate deeply while remaining authentic to their lived experiences.
- A more compelling and strategic social media presence will drive increased donations, volunteer sign-ups, and corporate sponsorships.
This project will have a direct impact on our ability to share powerful stories, raise funds, and mobilize support for refugee communities worldwide. A mentor’s guidance will not only benefit our immediate social media strategy but will also equip our team with long-term skills to sustain and grow our digital presence effectively.
Creshendo is committed to making this mentorship a successful and rewarding experience for both our team and the volunteer. To ensure a smooth process, we have already taken key preparatory steps, including:
- Our five-member communications team meets consistently every Wednesday at 9 AM Eastern Time, ensuring that discussions, updates, and mentorship sessions can happen in a structured environment.
- We have developed a strong content plan that the volunteer can review and refine, allowing them to focus on strategy and execution rather than starting from scratch.
- Our leadership and team members are eager to integrate new insights and approaches. This means the volunteer’s contributions will be actively implemented and valued.
- We are mindful of existing expertise within our team and are looking for a mentor who can enhance, not overshadow, the experience of our marketing professionals.
