WordPress Website Redesign

We seek a website designer who can help us revamp our current, stale website. Our watershed organization is over 20 years old, and the website is outdated. We have volunteers who know how to do simple additions and updates to the website, but we do not have the ability to redesign it to make it exciting. We currently use WordPress.

The volunteer should assess and incorporate our mission, vision and projects and consider our key audiences. The designer should also assess our technical capabilities. The project's deliverable is a roadmap for us to use to revamp our website to a new, fresh design. If the volunteer can actually guide us in how to make the changes, we would appreciate that.

Our work will take place over multiple meetings in six to nine weeks. In our first meeting, the volunteer should interview us about our desired features, our web capabilities, and our technical expertise. Then, they'll synthesize the information into a requirements briefing. We'll engage in various check-ins, where a member or members of our team will provide feedback. The volunteer will audit our current site to create a draft of site architecture and design options including wireframes, site structure, and other visual elements. The end product will also guide us in how to make the changes.

Shenango River Watchers is a nonprofit watershed group that is cleaning up, preserving and protecting the Shenango River and watershed. The organization has proudly been serving our community for over 24 years. You have an opportunity to make a huge difference in how we communicate about our good work and how we entice our community to want to join us in our work!

We have already thought about and are prepared to brief you about our current website platform, budget restrictions for the build, our branding collaterals and norms, and information about our stakeholder groups and target audiences. We can compile photos and prepare some language developed that we will share with you and samples of sites we like.
