We are looking for a volunteer who can help us update and polish our employee handbook. We're hoping to find a partner with a background in HR and/or operations to improve transparency and accountability by clarifying our employees’ legal rights and our policies, benefits, and other expectations for performance and conduct in a new or revised employee handbook. This project will contain the following activities:

-Conducting an audit of our existing policies including reviewing our existing materials and asking any clarifying questions
-Identify policies that we should modify and any new policies or areas that should be addressed and included
-Present a detailed outline of a new handbook
-Finalize the handbook after receiving feedback from our team

A clear, up-to-date handbook ensures every team member feels informed, supported, and aligned with our organizational values from day one. By modernizing this core resource, we'll be better equipped to retain great people and focus more fully on the communities we serve.

To prepare, we've designated a team member to oversee the project. We'll provide you with our existing Employee Handbook (if applicable), internal communications regarding employment policies, and any other employment policies that we have in place. The volunteer should expect to spend 10-15 hours over 3-4 weeks.

The Healthcare Navigation Project is an independent 501(c)(3) intentionally designed to disrupt our complex healthcare system with a health literacy and mental health life-skills program for ALL youth transitioning to adult care (HCT), and everyone else. This includes rare or chronic disease, underserved communities, or those with educational disabilities. We bridge the gap in healthcare by empowering all people to learn to actually use healthcare and self-advocate before they need it instead of after when it's too late. We empower people.
