We’re looking for a thoughtful, experienced volunteer who can help us build a truly engaged, mission-aligned board.

Right now, our biggest challenge isn’t structure—we already have clear agreements, a pro bono attorney reviewing our legal documents, and a basic onboarding process. What we’re struggling with is getting our current board members meaningfully involved and knowing how to attract new board members who bring strong fundraising skills.

With your support, we’d like to:
• Understand what motivates board engagement and how to activate it
• Design simple, realistic systems to hold board members accountable in a positive way
• Receive guidance on how to recruit new members with fundraising or donor cultivation experience
• Identify low-lift ways to build a culture of commitment and shared ownership
• Get clarity on what “board development” can realistically look like for a small, early-stage nonprofit

This would be a huge help to our team. You’ll be collaborating directly with our Executive Director, who is hands-on, organized, and eager to learn.

Creshendo supports refugees worldwide by offering educational access and storytelling platforms that help them lead their own change. As we scale our programs and partnerships, we need a board that reflects the strength and clarity of our mission.

A stronger board means stronger oversight, better fundraising partnerships, and more stability as we grow. Your guidance will help us build a foundation that supports refugee leadership at every level of the organization, including at the top.

We already have a functioning board with committed members and a clear desire to improve. We’ve drafted basic onboarding documents and a board expectations guide. What we need now is expert input to make sure our structure is strong and our practices are sustainable.

We’ll come prepared with documents, goals, and questions so we can use your time wisely. Your insights will help us build a board that is both visionary and grounded in good governance.
