Our nonprofit is changing the name of our core service, the course currently called Basic Wildlife Rehabilitation. We need support crafting a communications plan for the name change.

We need your expertise to communicate this positive change for our nonprofit clearly, concisely, and consistently. We are looking for a skilled communications professional to:
-Create a checklist to guide our organization through the who, what, when, and how of sharing the name change
-This checklist should pull in all the various channels that our nonprofit should use to reach staff, users, clients, volunteers, or funders so we have a standardized plan for outreach
-Suggest language or techniques to bring those familiar with the old name with us
-The communications plan should take into account our current marketing tools and staff availability

This project should take from 8-15 hours to complete. We're hopeful that our volunteer partner will share 2-5 hours of their time per week.

By changing the name of Basic Wildlife Rehabilitation to an appropriately descriptive name we'll open the course to additional students improving the training of wildlife rehabilitators and the welfare of wildlife in care.

To prepare for the name change we have communicated with key government stakeholders to understand the regulatory impact of a name change and we've solicited feedback from contractor instructors, internal staff, board, and volunteers on our list of names. We've decided on a final name and have a deadline of September 1 to have the name completely changed over and a tentative announcement date of July 15th for the name change. We have a staff member ready to post and monitor on social media and email, another ensuring all documentation will be changed, and a third monitoring that all changes comply with our brand guidelines.
