We are developing The Borderless Podcast, a new audio storytelling series under Creshendo’s Storytelling Project, which amplifies refugee and migrant voices around the world. The goal is to create a podcast that centers personal, community-rooted stories with a focus on dignity, resilience, and lived experience.

We are seeking a podcast mentor or strategist to help us build a strong foundation. Specifically, we would love support with:
• Shaping the format and tone of the show
• Developing a sustainable episode structure
• Creating a short-term production roadmap and workflow
• Advising on audio-first strategy and light post-production (e.g. tools like Descript)
• Offering feedback on a pilot episode structure or planning doc

The volunteer would ideally meet with us weekly or biweekly for several weeks to review our working draft, offer feedback on direction, and guide us on the steps required to launch with confidence.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping bring refugee and migrant voices to the forefront of public conversations. Creshendo is a global nonprofit dedicated to refugee-led solutions and storytelling, and this podcast will allow our communities to share their narratives in their own words, across borders.

This project will deepen awareness, humanize migration, and expand our reach on platforms like Substack, Instagram, and Spotify. By helping us build a podcast with integrity and intention, the volunteer will be supporting hundreds of refugees in reclaiming their stories and reshaping the dominant narratives around displacement.

My team and I have already created a podcast concept brief and gathered input from across departments including storytelling, research, and communications. We’ve held early planning conversations, drafted a working structure, and received an outline from a previous mentor that we can use as a base.

We are prepared to create a shared live doc where team members and the volunteer can collaborate. We have also discussed branding direction and content vision internally, and are looping in our MarComms lead to ensure alignment. We are committed to building something thoughtful and sustainable, and would love a partner to help us take it across the finish line.
