Mentor for Global Volunteer Marketing/Communications Team

Creshendo is seeking a skilled volunteer to serve as a Marketing/Communications Mentor for a Global Volunteer Team. This mentor would support our marketing and communications interns, particularly those newer to the field, and offer guidance on collaborative content creation, tone, and digital engagement strategy.

Our MarComms team is volunteer-led and cross-cultural. The team is currently managed by an experienced communications professional who brings over two decades of industry expertise. While her leadership is strong, we recognize that different team members are at different levels of experience, and we’d like to offer them supportive mentorship that helps build confidence, cohesion, and creativity.

We’re especially looking for someone who can:
• Coach team members on tone, voice, and modern nonprofit storytelling across platforms.
• Serve as a sounding board for content drafts before they go to the team lead.
• Model collaborative feedback styles for volunteer contributors.

You’ll be a guide, not a manager - and your insights will strengthen both the content and the team dynamic.

Creshendo supports refugee and migrant communities through storytelling, policy advocacy, and economic empowerment. Clear, culturally sensitive communication is at the heart of our work and our volunteer comms team makes that possible.

Your mentorship will help:
• Interns and volunteers build communications skills they can carry into future careers.
• Strengthen morale and collaboration across a globally dispersed team.
• Enhance the quality and consistency of our storytelling, which in turn drives awareness, partnerships, and donor engagement.

By supporting the people behind the messaging, you’re directly contributing to our ability to shift narratives, increase visibility, and advocate for displaced communities with dignity and impact.

• Our MarComms team meets every week and is consistent, engaged, and invested.
• We have a clear content strategy, internal channels for communication, and a team that values growth and feedback.
• We’ve prepared a warm welcome and are transparent about team dynamics so you can step in with confidence and clarity.

You’ll be introduced as a mentor to the team as a whole, and your guidance will complement our leadership structure, not override it.
