Leadership Coaching
I am seeking the support of a skilled Taproot volunteer with expertise in nonprofit leadership development, executive coaching, or organizational management. The goal is to create and implement a tailored leadership training plan that will strengthen my skills in:
Strategic decision-making and long-term organizational planning
Team leadership, staff development, and delegation
Communication and alignment with the Board of Directors
Building systems to sustain growth and expand impact
Specific Volunteer Tasks:
Conduct an initial needs assessment to identify my leadership strengths and growth areas.
Recommend relevant training programs, tools, and resources (both virtual and in-person).
Provide weekly one-on-one coaching or guided sessions (2–5 hours/week).
Help me develop a written leadership development plan with measurable goals.
Offer strategies for applying new leadership skills to current projects and team management.
By the end of the project, I aim to have a concrete leadership growth plan, actionable tools, and greater confidence in guiding Impact LA through its next stage of expansion.
As Executive Director, my leadership directly shapes how effectively we deliver these programs, manage resources, and inspire our team. By working with a Taproot volunteer to strengthen my leadership skills, I will be better equipped to:
- Guide my team with clarity and confidence
- Build stronger partnerships and secure more resources
- Improve decision-making that drives long-term sustainability
- Expand programs to reach more families in need
Your support will have a ripple effect, enhancing my leadership will elevate our staff, strengthen our operations, and ultimately increase the positive impact we have on our community. Volunteers will be helping us grow the capacity needed to serve more people, with greater efficiency and deeper impact.
To prepare, I have:
- Secured leadership buy-in from both staff and board members, ensuring they are ready to support and implement changes resulting from this project.
- Outlined clear goals for what I want to achieve through leadership training and how it will impact my role, my team, and our mission.
- Scheduled time each week to dedicate fully to volunteer coaching and project work.
- Identified ways to apply the outcomes immediately — including improving team communication, refining decision-making processes, and strengthening board engagement.
With strong organizational alignment, open communication channels, and my personal commitment to this process, I’m confident we can create a leadership development plan that will be implemented right away and have lasting benefits for Impact LA.
