Revenue Modeling and Diversification

We are seeking a skilled Taproot volunteer with expertise in nonprofit accounting, finance, or strategic revenue planning to help Impact LA create a comprehensive Revenue Model & Diversification Plan.

This project will involve:
- Reviewing our current revenue streams (grants, donations, events, partnerships, and in-kind contributions).
- Assessing financial sustainability and identifying vulnerabilities in our current funding mix.
- Researching and recommending new potential revenue sources (e.g., earned income opportunities, corporate sponsorships, recurring donor programs).
- Creating a multi-year revenue model with projections that align with our strategic plan.
- Providing tools or templates we can use for ongoing revenue tracking and forecasting.

The goal is to strengthen our financial resilience, reduce dependency on any single source of income, and ensure sustainable funding to support our food security, youth development, and community empowerment programs.

Impact LA’s mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their environment has access to opportunities for success and personal growth. We do this by providing year-round food security programs, youth enrichment opportunities, and large-scale community empowerment events for thousands of children and families in Los Angeles.

Stable, diversified funding is critical to keeping these programs running and expanding. A revenue model will give us a clear financial roadmap, while diversification will protect us from unexpected funding cuts and allow us to grow strategically.

By contributing to this project, a Taproot volunteer will help us:
- Strengthen financial sustainability
- Fund more meals for families in need
- Expand youth programs that build leadership and life skills
- Continue hosting impactful community events

Your expertise will directly support the long-term stability of our organization, ensuring we can serve more people, more effectively, for years to come.

We have strong organizational buy-in for this project from our Board of Directors, Co-Founder/Program Director, and staff. We have already gathered:
- Historical financial statements and budgets
- Current and projected program budgets
- Our 5-year strategic plan and program impact reports
- A list of current funders, donors, and income sources

I will be the primary point of contact and will dedicate time each week to meet with the volunteer, provide information promptly, and review deliverables. Our board will also be available to support the process. Once complete, we will integrate the new revenue model into our budgeting process and fundraising strategies immediately, ensuring the volunteer’s work has lasting impact.
