We are searching for a volunteer who can lead our development of a new and improved mission and vision statement that will communicate our purpose and vision to a variety of stakeholders. Our ideal volunteer partner will be a creative communicator who is ready to dive into messaging strategy with us!

We will work together to complete the project through three meetings in three weeks. The first meeting will be an opportunity for our designated team member to provide you with a briefing on our core stakeholders and organizational goals. We’ll share our existing mission and value statements, and orient you to our current vision and how we deliver on it through our programs. In our second meeting, you’ll present a first draft and we’ll provide feedback. We may work asynchronously for continued feedback, and in our final meeting together, you’ll deliver the final, copy-edited version.
By partnering with Embrace Abilities on this project, you’ll help us clearly communicate our expanded mission and vision to everyone we serve—including children, young adults, parents, caregivers, allied professionals, volunteers, and community partners. Your expertise will ensure our messaging truly reflects the full range of support, connection, and advocacy we offer to families and individuals with different abilities across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

A refreshed, authentic mission and vision statement will help us reach more people, inspire new supporters, and strengthen relationships with our community. Your work will empower us to build a more inclusive, welcoming environment where every person—regardless of age or ability—feels seen, valued, and supported.

Ultimately, your contribution will help us grow our impact, connect more families and individuals, and create lasting change throughout our region. You’ll be laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability and helping us foster a community where everyone can thrive.
We’re prepared to make this project a success by providing the volunteer with our current mission, vision, and value statements, as well as a comprehensive overview of our organization—including our history, programs, and core stakeholders. We have a designated team member available to collaborate with the volunteer throughout the process. The outcomes of this project will be implemented across our website, marketing materials, grant applications, and community outreach efforts, ensuring your work has a broad and lasting impact.

Organization Mission

Embrace Abilities is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting neurodiverse children and their families along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children with varying abilities can thrive socially, emotionally, and developmentally. Our mission is to bridge the gap in community resources by offering accessible, family-centered events that promote meaningful connections and the development of social skills in a judgment-free space. Together, we are building a community that embraces abilities, celebrates differences, and creates lifelong bonds, ensuring that no family has to navigate the journey alone.
