We’re seeking a Salesforce and UI/UX volunteer (or team) to help us create a scalable, student-centered system that connects our front-end application experience with a robust Salesforce backend.

Key Tasks:
- Assist with UX improvements to the student application flow, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with our Loanership™ model.
- Use Miro to visualize the end-to-end process — including the student journey, data flow, and automation — so the system can be understood at a glance.
- Deliver a clear, streamlined board that our team can use as the single source of truth for implementation.

We already have a team working with us on implementation — Salesforce configuration, Webflow forms, and Make.com automations. What we need now is someone who can step back, help us visualize the big picture on a Miro board, and streamline the workflow so execution is clear, consistent, and scalable.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us clarify and streamline the systems that power equitable access to education financing.

The outcome will:
- Scale our Loanership™ program, converting micro-loans into grants tied to student success milestones.
- Empower underserved students — especially Black women, HBCU learners, and adult learners — to navigate funding applications with clarity and confidence.
- Build a unified system that integrates education, housing, and financial services, eventually powering our Super App pilot with IBM.
- Provide our team with a Miro-based visualization that doubles as training, documentation, and a roadmap for long-term scalability.

By simplifying complexity, the volunteer’s work will allow our team to focus on reaching more students, reducing manual work, and expanding our impact to 2,500+ students annually.
My team and I have prepared for this project by:
- Creating initial Salesforce custom objects and fields based on FAFSA and internal application schemas.
- Starting Webflow/Make.com integration and defining draft data flows.
- Gathering documentation of field names, validation rules, and user types.
- Conducting multi-team working sessions across tech, product, and design.
- Establishing a Miro board draft that needs expert refinement and expansion.
- Securing full buy-in from leadership and assigning a dedicated project lead.
- Confirming an internal implementation team ready to carry forward the design and process improvements once the volunteer helps us finalize the visualization.

Organization Mission

At PYTF, we are dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. We strive to make higher education accessible and sustainable, recognizing the significant funding gaps that hinder many low to moderate-income undergraduate students from starting, staying in, and completing their degrees. Research indicates that financial obstacles account for 50% of the reasons why low-income students fail to complete their degrees. Our vision is to reshape the socioeconomic landscape by ensuring equitable access to education. Through our Student Loanership product offering—a unique blend of loan and scholarship—we connect families and banks to groundbreaking financing solutions. By harnessing technology and data, we bridge the higher education funding gap. Our program not only revolutionizes the scholarship industry but also places a strong emphasis on student advocacy, championing the financial interests, needs, and overall well-being of students. Join us in collaborating with students like you to forge a future where educational equity is universal, and every scholar has the resources to thrive, alongside student-driven initiatives.
