We are seeking a skilled web designer to help us upgrade our barebones environmental nonprofit website. WNC Grows current website, wncgrows.org, has a domain name from Namecheap and is currently hosted on the HostGator WordPress platform. We are open to discussing switching platforms, if that is preferred, but would like to keep costs and website maintenance needs at a minimum.

The volunteer should work with us to match the website design with our goals, audience, and technical maintenance capabilities. We can plan a project timeline that incorporates sufficient opportunities for feedback along the way.

Predicted Timeline: 5-8 weeks (We can discuss what makes sense based on the deliverables)

Deliverables:
- New web pages including "About us", "Programs", "Donation" pages
-Improved aesthetics on our "Home" page
-Templates for future pages
-Headers, Footers, Menus
-Setup webpage to connect with MailerLite(for collecting email lists) and Zeffy(for collecting donations)
-Mobile optimization
-Training to provide WNC Grows staff with the capabilities of performing simple maintenance and additions
Skilled volunteer support for WNC Grows website development will be invaluable to our organization and those we aim to support. We are a budding nonprofit growing up after Hurricane Helene to support the creation and stewardship of common greenspaces. An uplifted website is one of the final steps we need before advertising our organization more widely to local community members, potential donors, and other stakeholders.
I feel lucky to have stumbled upon taproot based on a recommendation from one of our core volunteers. I look forward to getting this project off the ground!
We have prepared the following ahead of time:
-Subscriptions to necessary platforms (Zeffy, Mailerlite, etc.)
-Color Scheme, branding, logos
-Example content/language
-Identified model websites with components we would like to mimic
-Identified target audiences

I am prepared to set aside the time to meet with a volunteer to make sure they are supported in the process and have the necessary information to complete the project. I am happy to adapt based on expert feedback.
