Back-End Development with Node.js & MongoDB for Stories of Strength

We are seeking a skilled back-end developer with experience in Node.js, MongoDB, REST APIs, and database architecture to help build and optimize key features of our nonprofit platform specific to our Stories of Strength program. Your contributions will enhance our patient management system, enable secure data storage, and improve performance for healthcare providers, donors, and patients accessing our platform.

- Only applicants with the required skills and a commitment of 4+ hours/week will be considered.

- Candidates actively seeking CPT/Internships or OPT are not eligible for this volunteer role.
- I’ve reserved Wednesdays from 6–7 PM ET for Taproot meetings. Please keep this time block in mind when proposing additional meeting times. No-shows without prior notice will not be rescheduled.

This project will directly support our mission of improving healthcare access and quality for patients with complex diseases. By strengthening the back-end infrastructure, you’ll help ensure our platform reliably connects patients, providers, and donors, enabling better care coordination, patient support, and community engagement.

We’ll provide API documentation, current database schemas, wireframes, and stakeholder insights, plus weekly check-ins to review progress and answer questions. Your work will be integrated immediately into our platform to improve functionality, security, and data management.
