We’re seeking an iOS Developer to help us build, improve, or modernize our mobile application so that our mission and services are always just a tap away. As more people rely on mobile devices to access information and resources, a dedicated iOS app will allow us to connect with our community wherever they are and whenever they need support.

The volunteer will support us by:

Developing or Upgrading Our iOS App: Create a functional, user-friendly app (or improve our existing one) that highlights our programs, services, and impact.

Integrating Key Features: Add tools such as event calendars, resource directories, volunteer sign-ups, donation options, or program updates to improve user engagement.

Optimizing for Performance and Accessibility: Ensure the app is responsive, fast, secure, and accessible for users of all abilities.

Preparing Documentation and Handover: Provide basic documentation so our internal team can maintain and update the app after launch.

With 2–5 hours a week over several weeks, your work will extend our reach beyond the web—putting essential resources and opportunities directly in the hands of those who need them most.
A mobile app is a powerful tool to further our mission of delivering essential services, education, and wellness support to underserved communities. By creating a seamless, on-the-go experience, we’ll be able to expand program access, increase participation, and deepen engagement with both existing and new audiences.

This project will break down barriers to access and empower more people to connect with the resources they need—whether it’s signing up for events, learning about new programs, or supporting our initiatives. Your expertise will directly contribute to a more connected, responsive, and impactful organization, helping us reach people where they are and deliver life-changing support more effectively than ever before.
We’ve already identified the core functionality and features that will make the app most impactful, and we’ve gathered content, design assets, and program details to guide development. Our leadership team is fully committed to expanding into the mobile space, and we have strong alignment across departments on the app’s goals and priorities.

You’ll be supported by a dedicated staff contact who will provide timely feedback and ensure smooth collaboration. Once the app is launched, our internal team will manage future content updates and user engagement, ensuring your contributions continue to make a meaningful difference well beyond the initial project.

Organization Mission

Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization. BME was just featured on ABC, CBS, Politico, Newsweek, and many more outlets for our vaccination project and we need more people to join us as we continue to solve urgent social issues! CBS News said of our newest app: "Health experts have said friends and family are key to getting those who aren't vaccinated and experts say this (Vaccination Rewards) app will start those conversations. "Bright Mind recently launched Street Care, a massive initiative built by our homelessness and wellness experts, 'your toolkit to help homeless people.' We have an app, an expanding series of informational materials and instructional videos (25+ already), and more (at streetcare.us). We are pioneering an online and on-the-streets outreach approach, accessible to everyone. We are passionate about building community. This is a crucial time to create positive change, and we look forward to working together as we accomplish great things together!
