We are seeking a skilled web designer to help us develop the first official website for our newly established nonprofit, the Arise Initiative for Migration, Education, and Development (AIMED). Our mission is to support migrants, displaced populations, and marginalized communities through research, education, and community-based programs. To advance this mission, having a clear, professional online presence is essential.

The volunteer will:
• Design the website structure and create a complete site map
• Develop initial layout concepts for key pages (Home, About Us, Programs, Research, Partnerships, Donate, Contact)
• Recommend visual elements and branding approaches aligned with our mission
• Assess and advise on the most suitable website platform (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace)
• Prepare a comprehensive design blueprint that can later be handed to a developer

Importantly, AIMED is preparing to apply for federal grants, and a professional website is a core requirement for transparency, credibility, and organizational readiness. The final deliverable will be a detailed website design plan that we can implement in the next phase.

Our goal is to establish AIMED’s core operational systems so we can begin applying for federal grants and foundation funding. We have a small but highly committed founding team in place, and we will immediately implement the volunteer’s recommendations. AIMED has no initial funding, so pro bono support is essential for building our website, administrative structure, and outreach tools. All communication and feedback will be provided promptly, and one dedicated team member will oversee the project to ensure smooth collaboration.
AIMED is a young nonprofit committed to advancing education, research, and support programs for migrant and displaced communities. A professional website is foundational to our mission because it will:
• Build trust and credibility with partners, donors, universities, and federal agencies
• Allow migrants and community members to access our programs and resources
• Strengthen visibility for our research, events, and community initiatives
• Enable effective outreach and volunteer engagement
• Support the documentation and transparency required for major grant applications

Most importantly, a well-designed website will significantly increase our ability to apply for and receive federal funding, which is crucial for implementing our programs and expanding our impact.

This project will directly contribute to AIMED’s long-term sustainability and its ability to serve vulnerable communities in meaningful, evidence-based ways.
By supporting this project, you will be helping a newly founded, mission-driven nonprofit led by migration scholars with lived experience of displacement to become ready for federal funding and long-term community impact.
We have prepared all essential materials to support an efficient and successful collaboration, including:
• Clear descriptions of our mission, goals, programs, and key audiences
• Draft text for the main pages
• Examples of websites that match the style and functionality we envision
• A designated point-of-contact who will provide consistent communication and timely feedback

This project is part of AIMED’s broader organizational development efforts, including:
• Becoming fully prepared for federal funding opportunities through SAM.gov and related systems
• Establishing strong administrative and operational infrastructure
• Building a credible public presence for partnerships, community engagement, and fundraising
Once the website blueprint is complete, we will move immediately into the build phase and integrate the site into our federal funding readiness plan.

This project directly strengthens AIMED’s capacity to launch public-facing programs supporting migrant and displaced communities. A professional website and organizational foundation are required for federal grant readiness, SAM.gov compliance, and partnership-building with universities, NGOs, and funders. Your contribution will enable us to begin delivering research, community support programs, and policy initiatives that address urgent needs among immigrant and refugee populations.
