Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in reviewing a grant proposal and making updates.

Specifically, Greens REALIGN is planning on applying for a Clif Grant to procure funding for a project that will scope what practices allow staff at environmental organizations to pursue community-centered rather than top-down solutions.

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with a copy and review the application draft with you. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll review our document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and creates a list of recommended changes to share with us. The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits which the volunteer will make the agreed-upon changes to the document.
The volunteer will be critical to Greens REALIGN's ability to undertake our mission this year by helping us (hopefully) procure our initial funding to conduct a long-in-the-works project. This project will survey staff across the environmental movement to uncover what organizations do that actually allow for just solutions that center impacted communities and those most impacted by environmental harms. This information will then be turned into a best practices report and used to drive changes across the organization that make it more effective and more fair.
We have a dedicated team member for the project who will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format. (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.) We'll also send you the proposal and application guidelines as well as information about Greens REALIGN, our mission, and the specific project we are seeking funding for.

Organization Mission

To build a collective of individuals at or associated with large, well-funded, environmental organizations and other institutions with relative and positional authority in the environmental movement (“Big Greens”) dedicated to redistributing environmental authority, leadership, and influence to grassroots networks (REALIGN). Members of the collective are dedicated to advancing racial, economic, and environmental justice; pressing for Big Greens to appropriately work with communities to achieve environmental justice; and to dismantling supremacy culture at Big Greens. It is a collective goal to develop practices to prioritize the voices, stories, and leadership of people that have been excluded from decision-making and/or harmed by past/current environmental injustices. We want to see Big Greens work urgently to ensure that all communities have access to safe, healthy, and affordable housing, clean air, clean water, nutritious food, affordable clean energy, and everything else they need to thrive–with no one left behind. We aim to identify and push for pathways for change at Big Greens that center the collective goals.
