We are looking for a skilled volunteer to help us explore and model a potential new revenue stream that aligns with our mission. This could include developing a fee-for-service model, launching a social enterprise, client-run enterprise, or monetizing an existing program or service. The goal is to assess financial viability of this option and forecast its potential revenue over the next 1-3 years.

Your time and talents will directly support our ability to:

- Increase program access by creating more reliable funding
- Reduce reliance on unstable funding cycles (hello, grant season stress!)
- Plan ahead with confidence so we can grow our services responsibly
- Sustain our work for the community year after year

By the end of this engagement, we’d love to walk away with a clear, actionable planning brief that outlines:

1. Who we’re serving (our ideal consumer base)
2. How we’d price it (pricing options that make sense and feel fair)
3. What it would take to break even (how much revenue we’d need to cover project and operational costs)

The first stage of this project will involve brainstorming and presenting options based on similar models used by peer organizations. Following the presentation of these ideas, you'll come up with a more in-depth evaluation and potential plan for implementation.
We’re looking for a skilled volunteer to help us dream big and do the math. Our organization is exploring a new revenue stream that aligns with our mission and we need a sharp, creative thinker to help us model what’s possible and map out what’s realistic.

This project is all about helping us build financial sustainability so we can keep showing up for our community in bigger, bolder ways. Whether it looks like a fee-for-service model, a social enterprise, a client-run enterprise, or even monetizing an existing program or service, the ultimate goal is the same: creating a revenue stream that supports our mission long-term, without compromising our values.
To set this project up for success, we will provide access to relevant program data, current funding sources, and any preliminary ideas or research we've conducted. We will also ensure that the NALA founders are available to provide context and feedback throughout the process!

To prepare for this project, we've done some initial brainstorming of potential service offerings that could generate revenue while advancing our mission and outlined our current cost structure and capacity (though we need plenty of guidance).

Organization Mission

NALA Projects is a New York City–based 501(c)(3) organization committed to building a foundation for creative literacy and equitable access to the arts. At the heart of our work is the belief that all communities should have the infrastructure to fully participate in NYC's cultural and creative environment. We take a multi-platform approach offering curriculum-aligned educational resources, digital arts engagement, and impactful public art experiences to unite education, environment, and experience. We believe art is not just for museums or galleries, art is a powerful tool for learning, connection, and empowerment. By designing inclusive programs grounded in local stories, we bring people together in ways that are meaningful and lasting. From interactive arts education to immersive public installations, our projects are tailored to inspire the culturally rich and diverse communities of New York City. In leading arts integration programs for K–12 students, curating public installations, and designing cultural connections for families, NALA Projects makes art accessible and impactful. Through thoughtful partnerships and project management, we turn creative ideas to ones that serve the community first.
