We are looking to develop a draft employee handbook and core HR policy documents tailored to The Outreach House. The volunteer will document current practices, create clear, editable policy language, and deliver a handbook draft.
A clear handbook and policies will help staff deliver services consistently and with dignity, strengthening capacity across the Food Pantry, First Things First, Walk-In Assistance, and Clothes Closet. Volunteer contributions will directly support compassionate, reliable assistance to community members.
The Executive Director and part-time staff will be available to provide information and review drafts; leadership supports formalizing policies. We will share current practices and participate in regular check-ins so the volunteer can iterate efficiently.

Organization Mission

The Outreach House’s reason for being is simple – to provide compassionate and effective assistance to individuals and families in need with dignity and without judgment. We address sources of insecurity related to acquiring food, appropriate clothing, diapers and hygiene products, and paying essential bills (to prevent utility shut offs) through our Food Pantry, First Things First (infant needs), Walk-In Assistance (emergency expenses) and Clothes Closet.
