Write a 1,200-word feature titled "In the Spotlight" that highlights African American artists and stories on Broadway and at the Met. The volunteer will research background, synthesize provided materials, produce a polished draft with clear sourcing, and revise based on editorial feedback. Specific subjects and access details will be provided.
This feature will help Harlem Collective Opera document and amplify African American contributions to Broadway and the Met, expand representation, engage artists, students, and audiences, and preserve cultural legacy. Volunteers will uplift artists' stories and broaden community awareness.
Our team will collaborate with the volunteer, provide background materials and editorial guidance, set a timeline with regular check-ins, and review drafts promptly. Details and subject choices will be provided during interviews to ensure the piece is publish-ready.
