Treedom for Palestine is in need of a short-form Video Editor / Social Content Creator

Background: Treedom is a small but growing nonprofit working with the Palestinian Farmers Union to plant and protect olive-tree micro-farms across the West Bank — creating long-term livelihoods, land security, and climate resilience for farming families, with a strong focus on women-led households.
We produce a steady stream of high quality photo and video content from the field and are looking to strengthen our short-form storytelling across social platforms and for grantor storytelling.

Project Overview: We are seeking a skilled and creative Short-Form Video Editor / Social Content Creator to support an 8–10 week pilot focused on producing 1–2 short-form video reels per week for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts and well as Grantor documentation.

This is a hands-on creative role, ideal for someone who enjoys shaping raw footage into emotionally resonant, mission-driven stories.

Key Responsibilities:
Edit 1–2 short-form video reels per week (15–60 seconds) from existing footage. We can provide the scripts. You would select compelling clips, assemble rough cuts, and create polished final edits.
Add basic text overlays, captions, music, and light motion graphics where appropriate.

Format and export videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

You will collaborate with Treedom’s Social Media Director.
Optionally: suggest creative concepts or story angles for future reels.

Deliverables
Over the course of the pilot: ~10–16 completed short-form reels.

Time Commitment
Approximately 2–5 hours per week
Duration: 8–10 weeks

Ideal Skills & Experience
Experience editing short-form social video (Reels, TikTok, Shorts).
Comfortable with tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
Strong sense of pacing, narrative flow, and emotional storytelling.
Ability to work independently with light creative direction.
Interest in social impact, storytelling, and human-centered narratives.

Why This Role Is Meaningful
Your work will directly support:
Palestinian farming families.
Women-led agricultural livelihoods.
Climate-resilient land stewardship in a conflict zone.
You’ll be helping translate real-world impact into digital stories that move people — not marketing fluff, but grounded, human, purpose-driven content.
This role is also a chance to help build a system that outlives the project — shaping how a growing nonprofit tells its story for years to come.
This project directly supports our mission by helping us tell the human stories behind our work — the farmers, families, and communities building resilient livelihoods through sustainable agriculture in the West Bank.
Short-form video allows us to translate real-world impact into accessible, emotionally resonant stories that reach new audiences, grow our supporter base, and deepen engagement with our work. By strengthening our capacity to produce compelling social video content, this project helps amplify the voices of the people we serve and ensures their stories are seen, shared, and remembered.
We are well prepared to support a volunteer in this role and make this a focused, well-scoped project.
Our Social Media Director will serve as the primary point of contact and creative partner, with our Executive Director available for strategic input and feedback. This ensures clear communication, quick decisions, and a consistent creative direction.
We already have a strong library of organized raw video content from the field, along with brand guidelines and example social posts to serve as references. We’ll provide a concise creative brief at the start of the project, share sample styles, and establish a simple feedback and approval process.
The scope is clearly defined (1–2 reels per week over 8–10 weeks), and all content produced will be published in real time across our social channels. The workflow and templates developed during the project will be used by our team going forward, giving the volunteer’s work lasting impact beyond the pilot.
