We need a style guide that includes specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements in formats we can use in print and digital. We're looking for a volunteer who's excited about our mission and has experience with brand and voice. This is a highly visible project that will impact us for a long time! This style guide may also include the following:
-Rules and guidelines for staff and board members to maintain brand consistency
-Tone and voice guidelines and examples
-Formatting examples
-Grammar, spelling, and punctuation preferences
-Instructions for utilizing the brand style guide based on communications channel or stakeholder
-The value of a consistent brand and voice
Developing a comprehensive brand style guide will significantly strengthen our organization’s ability to communicate our mission clearly, consistently, and professionally. As a growing nonprofit, we engage a wide range of audiences—including community members, donors, partners, volunteers, and funders—and a unified brand is essential to building trust and recognition across all of these groups.
This project will help us ensure that our messaging, visuals, and voice are aligned no matter who is creating materials or where our brand appears. A clear brand style guide will reduce confusion, save staff and volunteer time, and allow us to focus more energy on direct service and community impact rather than recreating materials or correcting inconsistencies.
For community members, this work will translate into clearer communication, easier access to information, and stronger storytelling about the programs and services available to them. For funders and partners, a cohesive brand will increase credibility and help us more effectively share our impact and outcomes, supporting our long-term sustainability and growth goals.
We'll share our branding goals and our target audiences. Our team will also come prepared with examples of brands we like. We'll share some of our past marketing materials. During the interview process, we'll ask to see your portfolio and examples of your graphic designs.
