We're looking for a volunteer with experience setting up a monthly cash flow schedule and reporting aligned our Quickbooks Online tool. Our Finance Manager will work directly with the volunteer to provide guidance and support.

We are an award-winning local nonprofit newsroom covering Newark, NJ and the surrounding towns. Our operations are financed by foundations and individuals, however eventually we will assign fees for training and merchandise. A volunteer with an interest in journalism as a civics tool and supporting BIPOC women and our commitment to community journalism will find our organization worth helping to get to the next level of financial reporting.

We will designate a member of our team who will manage the volunteer and the project.

Public Square is a local nonprofit newsroom founded by a team of Black women with over 70 years of combined experience in the nonprofit, journalism, and community organizing sectors. Public Square positions journalism as a civic tool and creates a pipeline for a new generation of local journalists. Our reporting centers on social and economic justice, racial equity and equality, the climate crisis, and the immigrant experience in covering issues impacting and concerning citizens in and surrounding our headquarters, Newark, from the community's point of view.
