Recruitment Strategy and Onboarding Plan
-Meeting with our organization's leadership to establish which roles are vacant
-Conducting interviews with board or staff members involved in recruitment or prospecting to establish which tactics have and have not been successful in the past
-Development of the first draft of an inclusive recruitment strategy that includes clear tactics for reaching candidates representative of the community that we're serving and who meet our current needs
-Finalizing the recruitment strategy by incorporating feedback from relevant team members
-Crafting an onboarding plan for when talented individuals are brought into the organization
• Recruitment Strategy & Plan: By creating a targeted, actionable recruitment plan, we will be able to attract qualified staff or volunteers who possess the specific skills required to advance our programs.
• Onboarding Plan: Developing a comprehensive onboarding plan ensures that new team members are aligned with our mission and operational goals from day one, reducing turnover and increasing our operational efficiency.
This project transforms our ability to move from a "scrappy" team to a sustainable, high-impact organization by providing the structural support necessary to scale our efforts effectively.
At Face Friends Foundation, we are passionate about alleviating food insecurity in the communities we serve and thereby reducing health and educational disparities, but our capacity to serve is limited by our current recruitment and onboarding processes. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources professional to volunteer through Taproot Plus to help us build a structured Recruitment Strategy and a comprehensive Onboarding Plan.
The Challenge:
We have big goals but currently lack a structured approach to finding and integrating the right talent. This creates burnout for our existing team and limits the number of people we can help.
Your Impact:
By designing a tailored recruitment plan and a welcoming onboarding strategy, you will enable us to:
• Attract individuals who are truly passionate about our cause.
• Get new team members up to speed quickly, ensuring high retention and productivity.
• Free up leadership time to focus on strategic programming rather than crisis hiring.
What You'll Do:
• Recruitment Strategy (Approx. 15-20 hours): Review our current needs, identify key roles, and design an outreach plan to attract top-tier talent or skilled volunteers.
• Onboarding Plan (Approx. 10-15 hours): Create a structured onboarding checklist, welcome package, and orientation agenda to ensure new team members feel valued and prepared.
Why Join Us?
This is not just "filling a seat"—this is about empowering our mission-driven organization with the tools to grow. As a volunteer, you will work directly with our leadership team, see the direct impact of your expertise on our operational capacity, and help us build a sustainable future.
