Research and produce concise donor profiles for the provided prospect list, summarizing public giving history, philanthropic affiliations, capacity indicators, and recommended engagement notes in a shared spreadsheet or document. Specifics and access to the prospect list will be provided during interviews.
This research will help identify and engage individuals who can provide major one-time gifts to support our transition into a living trust, directly enabling preservation and promotion of Meredith Monk’s work and sustaining an archive of her extensive body of work, live concerts, interdisciplinary performances, exhibitions, and educational initiatives. Volunteers will help secure long-term cultural impact.
We have begun compiling a prospect list and will share it along with background materials and a staff contact for questions. Volunteers can expect regular check-ins and collaboration; our team will use the research to inform solicitation for the living trust transition. Further details will be provided.

Organization Mission

The House Foundation for the Arts is a nonprofit organization with a mission to cultivate cultural engagement through live music concerts, interdisciplinary performances, exhibitions and educational initiatives. The House Foundation develops, disseminates, promotes and preserves the work of iconic American artist Meredith Monk and members of Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble. MEREDITH MONK (b. November 20, 1942, New York City) is a composer, singer, director/choreographer and creator of new opera, music-theater works, films and installations. Recognized as one of the most unique and influential artists of our time, she is a pioneer in what is now called “extended vocal technique” and “interdisciplinary performance.” Monk creates works that thrive at the intersection of music and movement, image and object, light and sound, discovering and weaving together new modes of perception. Her groundbreaking exploration of the voice as an instrument, as an eloquent language in and of itself, expands the boundaries of musical composition, creating landscapes of sound that unearth feelings, energies, and memories for which there are no words.
