Our organization is looking to maximize the way we collect and analyze impact data to better demonstrate our value to stakeholders and position ourselves to secure capacity-building revenue. We would also like internal decisions to be more data-driven.

We're in search of a volunteer to help us optimize our impact data infrastructure by recommending improvements to our current data collection processes across our organization and developing a data tool to visualize key data insights. We have some constraints due to funder requirements and have defaulted to only using funder-required tools and collecting funder-required data. We want to be as creative and efficient as we can within these constraints.

This project will include the following potential tasks:

-Conduct an audit of our current data collection processes and the type of data points currently collected
-Recommend enhancements to our data collection processes to ensure we're capturing the most relevant data to demonstrate our program impact
-Develop a data visualization tool that allows our organization to track our key performance indicators (KPIs), identify program trends, and pull key impact insights

By optimizing our infrastructure for collecting and analyzing impact data, we'll be better equipped to further improve our ability to demonstrate our value to potential funders and secure empowering financial resources.
Behind every life-changing program is a story of impact, and you can help us tell it.

We are a small nonprofit in Chicago serving survivors of domestic violence and their children. Every day, our programs help families find safety, stability, and a path forward. Now, we’re looking for volunteers to help us better measure, understand, and communicate that impact. Through this data analysis and impact measurement project, you’ll help us turn real experiences into meaningful insights. Your work will strengthen how we track outcomes, evaluate our programs, and share our results with funders and the community, ensuring we can grow and reach even more families.

Your contributions will directly influence how we improve services, secure funding, and expand access to care. When we can clearly demonstrate our impact, we can do more of what works and change more lives. If you’re passionate about using data to drive meaningful change, this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference.
To support the execution of this project, the volunteer will have access to staff members who work closely with our data collection and reporting processes. We will provide details about our program, mission, and vision, as well as materials currently used for data collection (e.g. surveys intake forms, data collection processes/systems, etc.) We have already gathered information about program data collection across site and funders. Additionally, we'll share how we're currently using data to communicate with key stakeholders and support our fundraising efforts. Our department heads are eager to work together to improve these systems and ensure better collaboration across teams.
