Creshendo is seeking an experienced safeguarding or protection advisor to help us design a clear, practical framework that can be applied across our organization.

We are a global nonprofit working with migrants and refugees across storytelling, integration programming, and research. As we expand, we want to ensure our work consistently protects the safety, dignity, and agency of the communities we serve.

This 4–6 week project will focus on building both organization-wide safeguarding guidance and team-level application, with a priority on establishing a Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) framework.

We are looking for support to:
• Develop core safeguarding and protection principles for Creshendo
• Draft a simple, actionable PSEA policy aligned with humanitarian best practices
• Create clear guidance around consent, boundaries, and appropriate conduct
• Establish best practices for anonymity, identity protection, and risk assessment
• Design a decision-making framework for when and how stories or data should be shared
• Advise on trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches
• Identify risks related to global, remote, and digital engagement

In addition, we would like the advisor to work with three teams to help translate these principles into practice:
• Storytelling team collecting and sharing personal narratives
• Integration team running workshops with migrant communities
• Research team gathering insights and data

Experience with humanitarian safeguarding, PSEA, or protection frameworks is strongly preferred. Familiarity with digital safety considerations is a plus.

This is not a legal drafting role. We have an attorney who can review the final documents. This role is focused on building a practical, values-aligned system that our teams can confidently use.
Creshendo exists to support migrants and refugees in shaping their own futures. Our work is grounded in dignity, autonomy, and belonging. That means the way we collect stories, run programs, and conduct research must reflect those values at every step.

In a time when migrant communities face heightened risk, safeguarding is essential. This includes ensuring that all interactions are free from exploitation, abuse, and harm.

Your work will help us build systems that protect the people we serve while allowing their voices to be shared with care and integrity. This is foundational to how we grow responsibly as an organization.
You will work closely with our HR lead, Executive Director, and relevant team leads. We will provide:
• Background on each program and how we engage with communities
• Current practices and areas where guidance is needed
• Access to team members for context and feedback

We are collaborative, responsive, and ready to implement. We are looking for someone who can bring both structure and judgment, and who understands how to balance protection with agency.
