Volunteer Recruitment Support for Helping Hands Cambodia School Project

My goal is to create a volunteer recruitment strategy and outreach plan for Helping Hands Cambodia a community school in Siem Reap supporting 2,800+ rural children across seven villages. We need help identifying the right platforms, writing compelling volunteer opportunity listings, and building a simple outreach process to attract more short and long-term volunteers to support teaching, sports coaching, child care, and community work at our school project in Cambodia.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping Helping Hands Cambodia recruit more on-the-ground volunteers who directly support rural children in Siem Reap. Currently 2,800+ children across seven schools and villages depend on our programme for education, nutrition, sports, and social care. Only 27% of Cambodian children aged 3–5 are developing literacy at the expected level — our volunteers help bridge this gap every single day. More volunteers means more children supported in class, more breakfast club helpers, more sports coaches, and more families reached through our social care programme. Every volunteer recruited translates directly into a child's brighter future.

My team and I have prepared for this project by:

- Having a fully operational school project running for 20+ years in Siem Reap, Cambodia with local staff in place
- Providing the volunteer with full access to our programme details at globalteer.org/helpinghands
- Having existing volunteer role descriptions for teaching, sports, farming, clean water, and community support
- Maintaining active profiles on GoAbroad, Go Overseas, Idealist, and VolunteerMatch that can be updated immediately
- Having internal sign-off from our director to implement all recommendations right away
- Providing photos, impact statistics, and real student stories to support any content created.
