QuickBooks Training

The Widow’s Treasure is seeking a skilled and compassionate volunteer to provide QuickBooks training and guidance for our team. Our mission is to support widows and widowers as they navigate life after loss, and strong financial systems are essential to sustaining and growing that impact. You will assist with setting up or optimizing our QuickBooks system and guide us on best practices for nonprofit financial tracking and reporting.

We currently manage our finances using a combination of handwritten records and Excel-based ledgers. While we have a basic understanding of financial tracking, we are looking to transition into a more structured and compliant system using QuickBooks.

Project Goal:
To become proficient in QuickBooks for governmental compliance, accurate tax reporting, and the preparation of quarterly financial statements, enabling us to confidently pursue and secure grant funding.

Your support will directly strengthen our operational foundation, allowing us to expand our reach and better serve individuals rebuilding their lives after loss. With improved financial systems, we can increase transparency, accountability, and access to funding opportunities that fuel our mission.

Implementing better financial systems will significantly increase our capacity to serve within the community. With clearer, more organized processes in place, we will be able to track resources accurately, report with confidence, and position ourselves for greater funding opportunities.

Additionally, having a structured system will reduce the mental strain on our team. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the many moving parts of financial management, we will be able to operate with clarity, efficiency, and peace of mind—allowing us to focus more fully on our mission of supporting those navigating life after loss.

We’ve recently expanded our reach within the community by serving individuals affected by loss following the Eaton Fire. As a result, our projects have grown beyond anything we’ve previously managed with our limited budgets.

As a team, we are highly motivated to strengthen our financial management practices and are eager to learn. While we may ask a lot of questions at the beginning, we are committed to faithfully applying the training and guidance we receive to ensure long-term success and sustainability.
