Grant Proposal Review

Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in identifying and writing grant proposals that our organization may be eligible for.

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need 4- 6 meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we would like to explore how we find grants that our organization may be eligible for. Next, we would like assistance on how we gather the data most grants will require from us and then help with writing and reviewing at least one grant.

A grant‑writing volunteer would significantly expand the DeKalb Jr Barbs’ capacity to provide safe, affordable, and development‑focused football and cheer programs for local youth. With a dedicated volunteer helping with researching funding opportunities, preparing applications, and tracking deadlines, the organization could secure new financial resources that directly support equipment upgrades, safety gear, coach training, facility needs, scholarships, and community outreach.

This added capacity would allow board members and coaches to stay focused on delivering high‑quality programming while ensuring the organization remains financially strong and accessible to all families.

Beyond securing funds, a grant‑writing volunteer would help the Jr Barbs articulate their impact in a more consistent, professional way—strengthening the organization’s credibility with funders, community partners, and local stakeholders. They would help build a pipeline of recurring grant opportunities, create reusable language for future applications, and ensure the program can continue growing without increasing costs for families. Ultimately, this role supports long‑term sustainability, deeper community engagement, and greater opportunities for every young athlete who wants to participate.

We will dedicated 1-2 team members for the project who will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format. (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.)
