Case for Support

Peacemakers’ Alliance is a nonprofit with over 15 years of experience delivering social-emotional learning, communication, and peace education programming in correctional and community settings. We are seeking support to develop a concise Case for Support that clearly communicates the need, program model, differentiators, and impact, along with a reusable Key Messaging Framework for grant proposals, presentations, and partner conversations.

Across our programs, participants consistently report increased self-awareness, improved communication skills, and a greater capacity to manage conflict and make intentional decisions. Many describe the experience as transformative in how they relate to themselves, others, and their reentry journey.

The volunteer will review existing materials and help us clearly articulate our unique approach, including real-time practice of communication and emotional regulation skills, peer facilitation by individuals with lived experience of incarceration, and a relationship-centered, trauma-informed model.

As part of this project, your guidance on the types of impact data that would strengthen our case for support would be appreciated. We understand that we would work with a different volunteer to actually begin the collection of that data in a strategic manner.

Clear, compelling messaging will help Peacemakers’ Alliance attract funders and partners to expand experiential social-emotional learning and peer-facilitated programs in correctional and community settings. This includes supporting our emerging “Mindful Practices for Kids” pilot and increasing access to communication, emotional regulation, and nonviolent conflict resolution skills for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals and their families.

Stronger messaging will allow us to better differentiate our work, align our team around a shared narrative, and increase long-term sustainability and impact.

We will provide existing grant proposals, program descriptions, curriculum materials, and participant feedback for review. While we have strong qualitative outcomes, we are in the early stages of formalizing our evaluation and reporting systems.

Our team brings over 15 years of direct service experience and deep familiarity with our program model and participants. We are prepared to participate in volunteer interviews and working sessions to clarify program details and provide timely feedback.

Final materials will be used across grant proposals, presentations, and partner outreach. We have internal alignment on project goals and a dedicated point person to support timely collaboration throughout the project.
