Design a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for Immigrant Storytelling Impact
We are an early-stage, global nonprofit working with migrants and refugees across storytelling, integration, and research. Our storytelling project focuses on narrative power, dignity, and visibility. We want to ensure that as we grow, we are able to understand and communicate the impact of this work in a meaningful and responsible way.
We have an initial template and early thinking in place. We are looking for someone to help refine this into a clear, practical system that balances rigor with simplicity.
Over a 3–5 week engagement, the volunteer will help us:
• Refine and strengthen an existing MEL framework for storytelling
• Define a focused set of indicators that capture narrative and social impact
• Recommend appropriate methods for collecting qualitative and quantitative data
• Design a lightweight system that is feasible for a volunteer-led team
• Outline how insights can be synthesized and shared with our research and advocacy work
This project is focused on building a strong foundation that we can grow into over time.
A strong MEL framework will help us connect storytelling to learning, research, and advocacy. It will allow us to move from individual stories to broader insight, while staying grounded in the communities we serve.
Your work will help ensure that we are not only telling stories, but learning from them in a way that strengthens our impact over time.
• Our current framework and draft materials
• Context on how stories are collected and shared
• Access to team members for discussion and feedback
We are collaborative, responsive, and open to learning. We are looking for someone who can bring both technical expertise and practical judgment, and who understands how to build systems that are appropriate for early-stage organizations.
