Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation (KCCF), founded by childhood cancer survivor Elana Koenig, supports children with cancer and their families. Donors and families increasingly find nonprofits through Google and AI tools like ChatGPT, and we aren't sure KCCF shows up when they search.
We need an expert SEO and GEO audit of our website (thekccf.org) and our presence in AI-generated answers. We're a small team without an in-house SEO/GEO specialist. We've updated our metadata and drafted an internal SEO/GEO strategy, but without an expert audit we can't confirm what's broken or what to fix first.
Our website is built on Next.js with code on GitHub. Donations run through Zeffy, with Give Lively for PayPal and Venmo.
This focused 6-week project is best suited for a senior SEO professional (5+ years) who has led full technical audits for real clients, not someone looking to build experience. To apply, please share:
- A link to a portfolio, case study or LinkedIn profile showing past SEO audit work
- One audit you led: what you found, what changed and the measurable results
- The paid audit tools you use (e.g., Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush)
Applications without a specific past example won't be considered.
Over 6 weeks, the consultant will deliver an audit report and a prioritized action plan covering:
1. Technical SEO: crawling and indexing, sitemap, robots.txt, Search Console, redirects, broken links, mobile and site speed.
2. On-page SEO: title tags, meta descriptions, content, duplicate content, URLs, internal links, image size and ALT tags.
3. Keywords: target opportunities and a benchmark against 2-3 peer nonprofits.
4. GEO: how KCCF appears in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, plus schema markup and listings like Candid and Charity Navigator.
Timeline: audit findings by week 2, the full action plan by week 4, and hands-on help with the top quick-win fixes in weeks 5-6. Fixes should be sorted into quick wins and longer-term tactics, with effort and impact for each. The project closes with a walkthrough call so our team can carry out the remaining plan on our own.
We'll provide access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics and our site as needed, and will respond promptly with any information you need.
Success means our team knows what to fix, in what order, and can start right away.
When a donor searches for ways to support children fighting life-threatening disease, or someone asks an AI tool where to give, KCCF will be one of the first names they see. We'll know we've achieved this when our site is fully indexed and error-free, organic traffic grows for our key searches, AI tools describe our work accurately, and website donations increase. Greater visibility means more children and families can get help. In return, our volunteer will gain a meaningful portfolio case study, a LinkedIn recommendation and the knowledge that their expertise helps children with cancer.
