About the Opportunity

We'd like to connect with a skilled volunteer who can help us with:

1. Draft a comprehensive fiscal policy and procedures manual (internal controls, risk mitigation, and operational governance).
2. Assess our current financial records and processes to identify gaps and ensure we are prepared for future professional audits.
3. Provide recommendations for refining our annual operating budget.

Currently, we use Wave as our accounting system, supported by our treasurer and an accounting consultant. Moving forward, we need to apply nonprofit accounting skills and implement a stronger review process. This will help us improve our overall financial readiness and operational efficiency.

Our top five objectives are: Strategic Financial Alignment, Internal Control and Risk Mitigation, and Audit and Compliance Readiness.

Our programs require dedicated accounting and audit expertise to ensure they are built on a strong, sustainable financial foundation. Bringing this role into the team means our programs will be guided by sound financial strategy — supporting organizational sustainability, ensuring continuity of services, and keeping our work clearly scoped and on track to achieve its goals. This partnership directly strengthens IAF's ability to fulfill its mission of serving the community with reliable, well-resourced programs.

Our current systems and plans will be shared and fully explained to set every new member up for success. We are committed to supporting incoming team members in continuing and expanding our work — together, we will meet our organizational goals for the year, grow our capacity, and ensure we are ready to serve our clients and community. Through the combined strength of our skills and expertise, we look forward to building meaningful programs that make a lasting impact.
