Logo Design for an Arts & Disability Inclusion Initiative
We are seeking a volunteer designer to create a simple, professional, and memorable logo that reflects the project's mission of connecting arts, culture, and disability inclusion. The logo will be used across digital platforms, presentations, training materials, outreach efforts, and program resources.
In addition to the logo itself, we would welcome guidance on color palettes, typography, and basic brand elements to help establish a cohesive visual identity for the project. We are particularly interested in working collaboratively with a designer who can help translate the values of accessibility, creativity, participation, and belonging into a strong visual mark. We are seeking a simple logo that conveys the spirit of the project, reflecting both arts and disability. It can include the classic accessibility symbols, but it does not need to.
In the spirit of the disability rights movement and the principle "Nothing About Us Without Us," we would be especially excited to work with a designer who identifies as having a disability or has lived experience with accessibility and inclusion.
The Creative Access Project will provide technical assistance, training, resources, and capacity-building support to arts organizations seeking to improve accessibility for artists, audiences, employees, and community members with disabilities. The initiative will also work to increase representation and employment opportunities for people with disabilities while promoting collaboration and shared learning across the field.
A strong visual identity will help CAP build recognition, engage partners, attract participants, and communicate its mission effectively to arts organizations nationwide. By contributing their skills, the volunteer will help create a tool that supports long-term systemic change and advances a more accessible, equitable, and inclusive arts community.
While this is one of our busiest times of year due to Disability Pride Month programming , we are committed to being responsive, providing timely feedback, and maintaining open communication throughout the project. We value collaboration and will work closely with the volunteer to share background information, answer questions, and support the creative process.
As the Creative Access Project continues to develop and fundraising efforts move forward, the logo and visual identity created through this project will help shape the initiative's future communications, outreach, and public presence. The work completed will provide an important foundation as we build and grow the program.
