We are looking for a skilled volunteer to help us design and implement a practical, AI-supported fundraising workflow that keeps human judgment and relationship-building at the center. Specifically, we need support with:

Mapping our current fundraising process to identify where manual effort, inconsistency, or capacity gaps are creating the most strain

-Designing an improved, AI-enabled fundraising workflow that responsibly incorporates AI to support prospect research, grant tracking, donor communications, and follow-up — with clear human oversight built into each stage
-Developing a set of ready-to-use AI prompt templates tailored to our specific fundraising tasks, such as drafting donor outreach, summarizing prospect research, or preparing grant narratives — designed to assist staff, not replace their voice or judgment
-Providing tool recommendations and a brief implementation guide that helps our team adopt the new workflow confidently and responsibly

The volunteer will work with 1–2 staff members over 6–8 weeks, approximately 2–5 hours per week, to deliver resources our team can put into practice immediately.
We have identified a staff lead who will serve as the primary point of contact and participate in working sessions throughout the engagement. We are prepared to walk the volunteer through our current fundraising process, share examples of existing donor communications and tracking tools, and provide timely feedback on drafts. Leadership has committed to reviewing and adopting the final workflow and resources. Upon completion, the AI prompt templates and implementation guide will be introduced to relevant staff and incorporated into our standard fundraising operations — with clear guidelines on where human review and approval remain essential.
Fundraising is the foundation that makes our mission possible — and the relationships behind it are deeply human. We aren't looking for AI to replace the trust and connection that defines our donor relationships; we're looking for it to handle the administrative weight that keeps our team from showing up fully in those relationships. By introducing AI-supported workflows with the human in the loop at every critical touchpoint, this project will help us pursue more opportunities with greater consistency, reduce the risk of staff burnout, and ensure our fundraising efforts keep pace with our mission. Every dollar raised through stronger, more efficient processes goes directly toward the communities we serve.

Organization Mission

Ms. JD seeks to support and improve the experiences of women law students and lawyers. Obstacles to equal participation hinder not only women in the law but also their colleagues, clients, children, and communities. Ms. JD consequently strives to give voice to why it matters that women continue to overcome barriers to achieve gender parity in the profession. In doing so, Ms. JD spreads the word: women’s victories are everyone’s victories.
