We want to use Google Sites as an organization intranet to manage information including policies, procedures, how-tos, etc. We know what information needs to go into the intranet but we need figuring out the configuration/organization - including what info should be in the site as actual content versus linking to a google doc policy versus embedding a google drive folder into a page. We'd also like some guidance or recommendations on a structure to keep the information relevant and timely (like who should update what and when).
Help us build an intranet/information system that saves time and energy for a nonprofit serving over 3,200 victims of domestic violence annually! A setup to help our staff and interns find forms, policies, how-tos in a quick way will ensure we're not digging through folders and that everyone has intuitive access to the same information.
We did a fairly extensive assessment of needs, problems, team capabilities, and we already reviewed a custom (paid) Google Site template option and Microsoft Sharepoint. We have also identified what information cannot be moved or migrated from our physical drives due to funder regulations - which is mostly HR/Finance related. This project has been reviewed and approved by our entire leadership team.
