We’d like a Marketing and Sales volunteer to help us with generating leads and improving our lead-to-sales ratio. Readeezy is a digital library for disabled/struggling middle and high school readers to improve their comprehension, retention, and engagement. Our mission is to help this target group achieve grade-level reading skills, empowering them for success in school, work, and life. We serve students who are economically disadvantaged, neurodiverse, disabled, emotionally challenged, marginalized, or English language learners.

We hope that a volunteer skilled in this area can assist us with developing a plan for connecting with decision makers from schools and related literacy organizations, pitching Readeezy, and closing sales. We have an incoming group of outreach interns in the fall who could assist with administrative and research related-tasks, but we would look to our skilled volunteer for a strategy and advice for guidance on mentoring them to set our efforts up for success.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us reach the most marginalized young people in our country and giving them a better chance for life success through reading. Everyone who has contributed to Readeezy has either experienced reading difficulties when they were younger or know someone who does. Some have mentioned that, although they were aware of issues in diversity and inclusivity in publishing, they didn’t realize there were virtually no books in the market designed to support disabled/struggling teen and adolescent readers. We’re also equally passionate about storytelling and providing the best possible reading experience for our target audience.
We have already prepared a few materials for potential sales and marketing initiatives, some of which include email templates, a database of literacy organizations, and marketing collateral such as flyers. Being a nonprofit with little knowledge on sales and best practices for outreach, we would be more than happy to tailor our workflow to our volunteers' needs.
