Leaving the Jar recently set up Jira and Confluence to organize internal operations, volunteer programs, documentation, and organizational projects. We have created initial Jira projects and Confluence spaces, but our team is new to Atlassian tools and needs an experienced Jira/Confluence administrator or project-management professional to confirm the setup is practical, secure, and easy for a small nonprofit team to use.

We are seeking support with two focused areas:
Setup review: Review our Jira projects, workflows, permissions, notifications, and Confluence space structure. Identify any important issues or unnecessary complexity, recommend practical improvements, and help ensure internal information is appropriately protected.

Team training: Lead 1–2 virtual training sessions for our core team covering the essentials: creating and assigning tasks, using boards and backlogs, tracking work, finding and updating documentation in Confluence, and following simple day-to-day workflows.
Leaving the Jar works to prevent human trafficking, respond to crises, and support survivors as they rebuild their futures. As our prevention training, scholarship programs, and survivor-support initiatives grow, we need reliable systems to coordinate work, preserve organizational knowledge, and keep our team aligned.
We have already created initial Jira projects, Confluence spaces, and organizational documentation. We will provide the selected volunteer with a brief overview of our programs, current setup, team roles, and the specific ways we hope to use the tools.

Our leadership team is committed to attending training sessions and adopting the agreed-upon workflows. With permission, we would also like to record training sessions for future staff and volunteer onboarding.

Organization Mission

We empower vulnerable individuals and communities worldwide through education, advocacy, and direct support. Our all-volunteer team provides scholarships for underserved youth, anti-trafficking education and intervention, job training and employment support, mental health resources, and crisis assistance. Operating across multiple countries including Egypt, the United States, Kenya, and Zambia where vulnerable populations need support, we work to break cycles of poverty, protect survivors of trafficking and violence, and create pathways to opportunity for those often overlooked by traditional systems.
