My goal for this Project is to create a professional, accessible, and mobile-friendly website that serves as the primary online home for The Bertie Fund. The website will introduce our organization, build trust with families, healthcare professionals, donors, volunteers, and community partners, and make it easy for visitors to learn about our mission, access resources, engage with our work, and support our programs.

We anticipate a website of approximately 6–8 pages, including:
Home
About The Bertie Fund
Our Mission & Programs
Caregiver Resources
Get Involved (Volunteer & Partnerships)
Donate
Contact

We would like the website built on an easy-to-manage platform such as WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or another user-friendly content management system so our team can maintain and update the site without extensive technical expertise.

We are also looking for guidance on website structure, navigation, accessibility, and user experience to ensure families can quickly find the information and support they need.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping families affected by dementia discover trusted information, practical resources, and meaningful support before they reach a crisis. For many people, our website will be their first introduction to The Bertie Fund and their first step toward finding guidance during an overwhelming and often isolating caregiving journey.

The Bertie Fund was inspired by our founder's grandmother, Bertie, whose experience with dementia revealed how difficult it can be for families to navigate care without accessible information and support. Our mission is to strengthen families' ability to navigate dementia and sustain care at home through early detection, caregiver preparation, and practical support.

A thoughtfully designed website will increase awareness of our work, strengthen our credibility with donors and community partners, and make it easier for caregivers to access educational resources and connect with our programs. The volunteer's contribution will help build the digital foundation for an organization committed to improving the lives of caregivers and families for years to come.
My team and I have prepared for this project by developing our mission, vision, organizational priorities, and core messaging. We have incorporated the organization, secured our domain name, and are preparing our fundraising and community outreach efforts. We are also pursuing the development of a visual brand identity that will guide the website's design.

We have outlined the website's primary audiences and key content areas and are committed to being an engaged project partner. We will provide timely feedback, assign a primary point of contact, gather requested content, and make decisions efficiently to keep the project on schedule.

Once completed, the website will become our primary platform for educating families, engaging volunteers, attracting donors, sharing community resources, and supporting future fundraising campaigns.
